KACB celebrates Earth Day with county-wide cleanup, appreciation party

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL- The 31st annual Great American Cleanup on Saturday, April 22, is a great way to celebrate Earth Day. Sponsored by Keep Alachua County Beautiful (KACB), this event is excellent opportunity for you to show appreciation for the Earth and our community by helping to clean it up!

Come join us at Albert "Ray" Massey (Westside) Park, 1001 NW 34th St., Gainesville, FL 32605. The cleanup is from 9 a.m. until noon and a volunteer appreciation party will follow. Cleanup sites are located throughout the greater Gainesville area, not at the park.

Individuals, businesses, groups and service organizations across Alachua County are invited to help beautify our community on Earth Day. Projects include removing invasive plant species, planting native and pollinator plants, painting over graffiti, and picking up litter from our streets, parks, creeks and other public areas. All supplies will be provided by KACB thanks to our many generous sponsors.

The City of Gainesville, Alachua County, Lowe’s, Domino’s, Publix, Coca-Cola, Waste Pro, GFL Environmental and DeConna Ice Cream, among others, are annual sponsors of the Great American Cleanup.

KACB invites you to mark your calendar for this signature event and to visit kacb.org and pre-register your group or yourself. Contact KACB for additional cleanup dates and locations.

All volunteers and sponsors are invited to join us for food, drinks, awards, and prizes at the party at noon.
