Yoshihiro Kurt Kuriyama's Obituary
Yoshihiro Kurt Kuriyama of Alachua, Florida, age 80, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 in UF Shands Hospital. He was born March 9, 1935 in Tokyo, Japan to Mitsuzo Kuriyama and Sumi Matsumoto Kuriyama. Mr. Kuriyama received his doctorate from UC Berkeley and taught university courses in modern China and Japan. In his free time he enjoyed gardening and keeping up with current events.
He is survived by his wife, Constance Kuriyama; his son, David Kuriyama (Elizabeth) of Fair Lawn, NJ; two brothers, Yuki and Kuni Nakajo of Japan; and two grandchildren, Marcus and Emily.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 4:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street.
