Mr. William J. Wester's Obituary
Mr. William J. Wester passed away on August 14, 2017 in his home in Gainesville, Florida. He was 86.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie, their daughter Suzanne M. Wester, M.D., and his sisters Wyolene Connor, Ouida Seay and Audalene Williams. He is survived by his son Jeff and his sister Stella Chambliss and her husband Dr. Tom Chambliss. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Sharon and Harry Kornprobst.
Bill was born in Grand Ridge, Florida on December 19, 1930 to parents Stella and Harvey Wester. Bill graduated from Chipola Junior College with an associate’s degree then attended the University of Florida. At the University of Florida he earned degrees in physical education and electrical engineering. While attending the University of Florida he lettered in football, playing defensive halfback for the Gators.
Bill spent over thirty-five years working for the Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Baltimore, Maryland. After retirement, Bill and Stephanie retired to Florida where they enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing golf and attending University of Florida football games.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider donating to Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida.
A graveside service will be held on August 26th, 2017 at 1 PM eastern time at Carpenter’s Cemetery in Grand Ridge, Florida.
