Carolyn & Family, So very sad to hear of Wendell passing, my prayers go out to each & everyone of you. I'm a 1st. cousin of Wendell . when Wendell was stationed at Paris Island, Aunt Marie gave me his address , My Husband was stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C., I wrote Wendell a few times, he wrote back. I had never met Wendell. until but had family to speak of him. in his few letters he seemed to be a very caring person, I never forgot when I did see Wendell & You Carolyn at Uncle Wallace Carter family reunion in 1992. introduced myself told him about writing the letters way back when, he remembered too. it is sad we all go in every direction like leaves in the wind & never get to know our families.
