Walter Baugh's Obituary
Walter Baugh, 42 of Gainesville, passed away Monday morning.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Baugh of Gainesville, his father, Walter Baugh of Virginia, his mother, Debbie DeWein of Newberry, his sister, Wendy Tatum of Newberry, his niece Lexi Tatum and his nephew Billy Tatum, both of Newberry.
Walter was an avid Magic: The Gathering player at local tournaments and throughout the Southeast. Born in 1973 in Wichita Falls, Texas, Walter had the opportunity growing up to live in several amazing places. He lived in New Mexico, Okinawa, Japan and Richmond, Virginia to name a few. Walter was a Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns fan. He developed a greatlove of gaming and movies and often would invite whomever wanted to tag along with him whether it was to a movie or to come sling a few cards. As a home health aide, he touched many lives. His heart and compassion for people was evident to everyone he had the chance to serve and their families. The hours he spent with others, even beyond his normal shifts left an indelible mark on so many. Walter will be greatly missed by family, friends and his clients.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11:00 A. M., at the First Baptist Church of Gainesville, 14105 NW 39th Avenue, with Dr. John Fairless, officiating.
