Virgil E Keene's Obituary
Virgil E. Keene, age 89 of Gainesville passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023. He was born October 9, 1934 in Lake City, FL to William M. and Dollie Mae Box Keene.
Virgil always put his wife and family first. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was the last of six siblings.
Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Geri; six children, Victor R. Smith, Deborah Wilson, Darlene Thomas, Jeffery Smith, Cindy Durden and Sherri Arban; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Meadows Central Cemetery.
