There are too many memories of Vince to share - which we are forever grateful for and will hold close to our hearts. I will share two short stories that exemplify Vince. Our daughter Sky had the extreme fortune to grow up with Vince not only as her Uncle Vince but as one of her best friends and troublemaker sidekick. Sky was about 5 and we were in the holiday season so Santa and magic were very much on her mind. On her way home from school one day, she made a declarative statement that there were three magical beings in the world - not in a particular order: (1) God, (2) Santa, and (3) Uncle Vince. She had clearly given this a lot of thought and, really, she wasn't wrong. Fast forward to that spring. Sky went to a small private school and starting in 1st grade, they had a Special Friends Day where you got to invite a special friend to spend part of the school day with you. This was a BIG deal for these kids. I thought that Sky might be struggling with whom she should choose as her special friend so I mentioned that she had a few days to think about it. She looked at me as if I had sprouted an extra head and a tail and let me know that there was nothing to think about it was clearly Uncle Vince - not even a distant person in the running.
Sky's views on what is magical have no changed as she grew into adulthood but her beliefs that her Uncle Vince was magical have never wavered and we could not agree more.
