I will always remember Tim. I have respect for this man. I so hate to hear of his passing. I remember him wanting to go back home to Florida. It's good that he got to but sad for such a short while. My condolences to all of his family. Angie Baker. From club 6437
My only interaction with Tim was at Sam's Club. I'm in there all of as a customer and Tim was always very helpful. He was always working hard and diligently. He got to know me on a first name basis. I respected his work ethic, his professionalism and usual smile. I really felt like he cared about this fellow man. A man of integrity... Reading the other memories here verifies my assumptions. May Grace and Peace abide in your family. I know Tim will be greatly missed by all who knew him. But I am also thankful as a Brother in the Lord we shall meet again.
I remember Mr. Hooie as an honest, fun loving, family oriented, motivating person from our days together at a Gainesville Winn Dixie. He was a calming influence when we went through a tough situation at work. It always made me smile to know the mg midget I sold him in 1989 or so was still in his possession years later. Godspeed Mr. Hooie.
We will always cherish Tim and Kim and their great family. We attended Life Church together for many years. Tim and Kim were always helping in the kitchen when we had dinners and always went out of there way to make things beautiful and tasteful. Some people shine like stars, that is the Hooies. Working at Sam's 8155 with Mr. Tim is nothing short of an adventure. A man who is dedicated to his craft and people. Every morning he'd walk in the back door building and say, "Good Morning Sunshine" whether I was sun shiney or not! It always put a smile on my face.
I'm going to miss pulling up for work and not seeing that grey truck.

I remember when we were what, 17 years old, young, strong and full of ourselves. He asked me to help unload a tractor trailer load of fertilizer. It paid by the job, not by the hour and we finished near lunch time. Carrying two or three bags at a time. Tough guys... Lol. Then he took me out to a swimming hole. As i recall it was a sinkhole. 50 feet down to the water, 50 feet further to the first rock. I did NOT have the cojones to jump, but Tim did. Good times. Good memories. Good man.
I've thought long and hard about a memory to share and I can't because to many come to mind. Tim was not just a friend he became like family to me. He reached out to me knowing I was in a place without family or friend and lucky for me he never let go. We saw each through some hard times ,had a lot of great talks ,and lots of big laughs. I don't shed tears often but your loss has brought me to tears. I can't thank you and your family enough for all you have done. You will be missed my friend. I take some joy in knowing you will be one of few angels wearing a bright Hawaiian shirt and it will be easy to find you when we meet again. You would often end our phone calls and conversations with a big smile and an I Love You Brother. So it is only fitting that I say Rest In Heaven and I Love You Brother!
Special memory with Tim Hooie and Family is 4th of July celebration at Margie and John Knott farm in Gilchrist County. The tradition was for us guys to go to the intersection of the roads, choose sides for guys on each corner and shoot bottle rockets. Only one rule. You had to call a person's name before you fired the bottle rocket. Tim had an awesome heart for all those that he knew and met. May God's comfort continue to his family and friends. My Awesome Friend Hooie! I have thought so much about our time together in Bloomington, IN. The older I get I can look back and see how God has put certain individuals in my life to shape and steer me in the right direction. You were 1 of 4 men from High School until just a few years ago that had a huge impact upon my life. Not only did you shape me into a team leader, but also taught me about life. Not many people can actually speak truth into a persons life. You kicked me in the tail when I needed it. You took me out bowling to give me correction of which I needed at the time. You saw right through my moods and attitude. You spent time mentoring me on so many levels. I am a better man because of you. I thank God for you. I will miss you, but you left us with so many great stories to tell. As most of us that have read Facebook over the last couple of day, you have touched many peoples lives. Thank you for caring and giving yourself to make us all better people. I love you, Man! There needs to be a National Day of Hooie. We will all wear Hawaain Shirts in your honor. I look forward to seeing you in Heaven!
