Susie M. Brannon's Obituary
Our precious mama, Susie, made her journey to Heaven with Jesus by her side on May 18, 2022. She died peacefully with family holding her hand at Shands Hospital.
Mom was born in Mistic, GA (Irwin Co) on September 17, 1929, to Charles and Alice Revell. She grew up with three brothers on a farm receiving her elementary education in Holt, GA, attending high school in Ocilla, Ga and receiving her GED at the age of 54. Mom worked with our dad on the farm until it was sold. She worked in retail until she started her business, Tipton Janitorial, which she worked for 28 years. She loved this business which made her fiercely independent.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, loved to read recipe books, loved gardening, loved to cook fresh vegetables, and loved talking with anyone. She never met a stranger and had a kind heart for anyone in need. She called Turkey Creek Forest home and said it was like living in a little piece of Heaven with neighbors she called "angels".
She is now reunited with her two children who predeceased her, Deborah Susan and Mac Swilley, all her siblings, her husband, Jack, and many other family members and friends. Her children, Wendell (Susan), Robbie (Michelle) and Jennie (Tony), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many dear friends will forever miss her.
A celebration of mom's life will be held at Williams Thomas Funeral Westarea Chapel 823 N.W. 143rd St. on May 27, 2022, at 11 a.m. Lunch immediately after the celebration. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in her name to St. Jude Children's Hospital www.stjude.org.
