"Steve" James Steven Sanders' Obituary
James Steven Sanders “Steve”, age 62 was born in Gainesville Florida on December 14, 1961 at Alachua General Hospital to Melba R. Halfacre and James S. Sanders. Steve passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the home of his sister, Brenda, in St. Augustine, FL.
Steve grew up in Gainesville and went to Buchholz High School.
He attended Westside Baptist Church. He worked for St. Johns Beverage Co in Gainesville and St. Augustine, Fl. for many years. He joined his father at the family-owned business, The Sanders House & Apts., where he was the Property Manager. Steve was a long-time member, as well as the Deputy National Director, of the National El Camino Owners Assoc-Florida. Steve really enjoyed getting involved in helping with the local El-Camino Car Shows and meeting other car owners. He was an avid Gator fan!
Steve is preceded in death by his father, James S. Sanders and his Stepfather, Robert R. Halfacre.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Leann Sanders, his mother, Melba Halfacre, and his siblings: Lesli Tindell, Brenda Gregory (Stephen), Kevin Halfacre (Sarah) and Kyle Halfacre (Cindy). Many nieces and nephews that called him Uncle Bobo and his stepmother, Patty Sanders.
A celebration of life service will be held at Williams Thomas Funeral Home, 404 N Main St. Gainesville, Fl 32601 on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10am.
