Sandi Rosenberg's Obituary
Sandi Rosenberg passed away peacefully on January 2, 2023, at the age of 81. Sandi was born in New York but spent most of her life in the Sunshine State. She graduated from Miami Beach High School and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from the University of Florida in 1962. Sandi raised her family in the Miami suburb of Kendall and later returned to her alma mater’s town of Gainesville, FL.
Sandi worked as an elementary school educator and Sunday school teacher but found her true professional passion as a real estate agent. She found the greatest reward in locating the perfect “Match[maker]” home for new home buyers. She enjoyed playing a variety of games with family and friends with a special fondness for Bridge, Mahjong, Scrabble, and Rummikub. Sandi travelled the world, near and far, devising a jampacked adventurous itinerary, and collecting an eclectic assortment of mementos along the way. She was a true social butterfly and enjoyed planning, attending, and hosting a great array of events from Wednesday Bagel Bunch to anything Florida Gator sports related.
Sandi was truly a special lady. She was a loyal and loving friend, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and in her words, “die hard Florida Gator.” Sandi was predeceased by a great granddaughter, her first husband, Larry, and the great love of her life, Kal who dubbed himself the “curmudgeon.” She is survived by five children, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 15th, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at Temple B’nai Israel, 3830 NW 16th Blvd, Gainesville, Florida 32605. A remembrance luncheon at a nearby location will be held immediately following the Memorial Service with details to be provided at the service conclusion.
