Russell "Rusty" Allen Watson's Obituary
Russell “Rusty” Allen Watson, 51, a Gainesville native, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015. He was born September 13, 1963. He played on the Gainesville High School 1980 state championship football team. Rusty was a chiropractor in Texas. He then moved back to Gainesville where he was a painter, while working towards getting his license to practice in Florida. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf.
Rusty was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Thomas, and grandparents Coy and Helen Thomas. He is survived by his brother, Randy Watson (Brenda) of Uriah, Alabama, and nephews, Tyler and Justin Watson. Rusty also leaves his beloved loyal companion, australian shepherd, Josie.
A gathering will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, from 6:00 to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to the Alachua County Humane Society, 4205 NW 6th St, Gainesville, Florida 32609.
