For years I've been wondering what became of my childhood buddy Ronnie Brown. I am not sure if this gentleman that passed away is my old friend! If it isn't, I apologize for this posting, but I still wish this family my condolences for their loss. I lived at 118 SE 9th Ct. Hialeah during the 1960's and 1970's. My family was the Diaz family who where Cubans. I recall Ronnie having a sister named Geri. So, I think The Lord has led me possibly to the correct family. Ronnie was one of my first and best friends in this country. We shared will times together and his friendship always reflected the great person Ronnie was! If anyone can pass this message along to Geri his sister, she may recall my cousin's name Modesto who lived across the street from them. Again, either way, please receive my sincere my apology if I have the wrong Ronald Brown, but receive my wishes of comfort and peace to the family.

I wanted to share a few words about Ron. We met in 1996, when I was a student at UF. He ended up bringing me on as a student assistant in the Aerospace department, where I worked from 1996-1999. More than a boss, he was a mentor and a friend. We stayed in touch for many years after I graduated. Even when I moved to California in 2007, I would try to come and see him when I was back in Gainesville visiting my family. The best thing I can say about Ron is that he was a good dude. No frills, no gimmicks, just a genuinely good guy. I will always remember him and all the great conversations we had. I was sad when I found out about his passing when I stopped by the department to see him last month. RIP Ron, and God Bless your family.

Big Ron ....... Where do I start you have been in my life as long as I can remember , I will never forget all the good times our Family has shared at the Black Angus in Hialeah to the Bluegrass Festivals at the PBA with Mom (Evelyn) and Dad (Dick) Brown . Colleen and I had it made man when we were Little because you and Sue and Linda and Hollis had to drag us every where ..... And man your cooking was awesome ... Our family will truly miss you.

We will miss you Ron...I remember lots of things about you as you have been a part of our family for almost 40 years. You always took great care of my sister Sue and Ronnie and I will always be thankful to you for that. How many other husbands go to work every day and come home and cook dinner? Sue had it made. And boy did you ever cook some great food and loved to grill on that BBQ. Rest in peace, Ron. We love you. Hollis and Linda

Ron will be missed deeply. I have many fond memories of him from my childhood that I will treasure, such as he and my sister sneaking us into the drive in movie in Miami in the trunk of his T-bird, his delicious leftover hash and just getting to spend time with him and my sister, Sue, at their apartment after they were first married. He is at peace and will watch over us all from Heaven.
