Roberta Ponder Roser's Obituary
Roberta Ponder Roser, 88 of Gainesville, Florida passed away on December 22, 2015, following a lengthy illness.
Roberta was born on July 24, 1927 in Livingston, KY to Angie Mullins and Jason Ponder. Roberta spent her early years in Northern Kentucky before escaping the cold for Hollywood, Florida. Following the death of her husband, Charles Roser in 1996, she moved to Gainesville to be near her 5 children: Darlene Waite of Alachua, Gail Roser of Gainesville, Gilbert Roser and Diane of Live Oak, Pam Hahn and Bob of St. Cloud, and Mark Roser and Donna of Palatka. In addition to her children, Roberta is survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews & cousins in Kentucky and Ohio.
Roberta was first and foremost a mother and homemaker, and all in her large and extended family will miss her love, guidance, and kindness. Additionally, she was the manager of a large Country and Western store in Davie, Florida for some years.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 27th at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main St. Family and friends are invited to the viewing at 2pm, and the 3pm funeral service by Rev. Gilbert Roser. A grave-side service and interment will follow on December 28th at 2:30 pm in Hollywood Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, Florida.
