Alex was my preceptor in Cardiac Transplant at UF Shands when I was an NP student in 2002. He was an excellent mentor; he was enthusiastic about his job and really inspired me. He cared deeply for his patients. Later our paths crossed at NFRMC where we saw each other in passing and he was always pleasant, kind and friendly to me and everyone he encountered.
I am so very sad for his family. My deepest condolences.
Truly unbelievable that Alex has moved on to a peaceful place. He was a great friend, colleague, cycling buddy and could cause me to laugh uncontrollably. We had ridden bikes for so many miles all over the southeast, stayed in funky cabins as a group, watched hours worth of cycling competitions and even tried to climb some of the same hills. Not sure why we thought we could do such a thing. Always an adventure. I wish there could have been more. I was so fortunate to have had a friend and coworker such as Alex. He and his family have a special place in my heart. He is missed and loved beyond words.

Alex was a wonderful clinician and a great colleague. He brought joy and cheer to our work environment. He was so very dedicated and committed to each patient always respecting their humanity and demonstrated warmth and empathy every day. He has positively impacted so many people, especially his heart patients, many of whom were veterans as well as his colleagues. We would often puzzle over how we crossed path in the halls so often and likely it's because he was often on the move making things happen for his patients. I only had the pleasure of meeting Alex on one occasion but even in that brief encounter his positive energy, humor and enthusiasm was evident. His love of life touched us all no matter how brief the meeting.
I would like to extend my deepest and sincerest condolences to both the immediate and extended family of Alex Price. I had the pleasure of working with Alex for a little over 2 years, and will forever remember him for his sense of humor (though dry it sometimes was; Ha!), his antics, but most importantly, the genuine care that he showed our patients on a daily basis.
