Richard Bruce Freeman's Obituary
Richard Bruce Freeman, age 58 of Gainesville, Florida passed away 10/24/17 at Shands Hospital. He was born 8/26/59 in Chicago to Kathleen and Alan Freeman. He graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1977. He earned his PhD. in Visual Anthropology from the University of IL., Champaign-Urbana IL.
He traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to write his dissertation. He was the Anthropology Librarian at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, which was a job he dearly loved. In addition, he was an accomplished photographer-ethno videographer, loved music passionately, traveling and had a reverence for nature.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Jenny Eckenrode-Freeman; parents, Alan and Kathleen Freeman; sisters, Lynn and Paula Freeman; brother-in-law, Toby Bernstein, and beloved uncle of Gabriel and Natalia Duarte.
