Richard A. Dubberly's Obituary
Richard A. Dubberly, 70, of LaCrosse, Florida, died Sunday, October 2, 2016 in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, Gainesville, following a long illness.
Mr. Dubberly was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to the late Flaval and Lucy Dubberly. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Vietnam. Mr. Dubberly received a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Florida State University, and then began a long career with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, retiring after nearly 30 years. He moved to North Florida in 2006, attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Dubberly; a daughter, Lori Edghill; two sons, James Dubberly and Joshua Dubberly; a step-daughter, Cheryl Anderson; one sister, Dianne Dubberly; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 A. M., in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Avenue, Gainesville, with Fr. Dung Bui, celebrant. Following a reception at the church, interment will be in New Hope Cemetery, LaCrosse. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1150 NE Waldo Rd, Gainesville, FL 32608 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place
