Richard Allan Christison's Obituary
Richard Allan Christison, 25, resident of High Springs, Florida, died Sunday, January 6, 2019 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Richard was born in Gainesville on June 6, 1993 and had lived in High Springs for much of his life. He graduated high school while living in Temecula, California; Class of 2011. After high school he began a career as a corrections officer, working for several years at Cross City Correctional, and because he was always thinking of others, ended following an injury that he felt would make him a liability to his fellow officers. He started working at encell Technologies, where he was working at the time of his death. Richard was a devoted family man, to his wife, to his friends and to his co-workers. He loved music, from country and gospel to classic rock. He loved sports, especially Gator football. Richard was a member of Fellowship Church in High Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Christison; his mother, Michelle Ann Hodges (Carlisle); father, Drew Allan Christison; grandmothers, Cheryl Ann Hodges and Betty Fern Christison; grandfather, Richard Andrew Christison; a brother, Michael James Devries, along with a large extended family.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 P. M., in the Fellowship Church, 16916 NW US Hwy 441, High Springs, with Elder Michael Hosey, officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00. There will be a visitation on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5 to 7 P. M, in the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Fellowship Church.
