Philip E. Doty's Obituary
Philip E. Doty, age 80, died November 29, 2017 in Gainesville, FL. He is survived by Zora (Novak), his wife of 56 years. He will be missed by his children, Shelly (Dunbar) Gram, Michael (Diane) Doty, Marcus Doty and grandchildren, Woody and Megan Gram and Gabe and Alyssa Doty. He also survived by his sister, Paula Nabozny along with his niece and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Patty Sharpe. Phil was born in Jackson, MI to Paul A. and Helen W. Doty. After graduating from Vandercook Lake High School, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Phil worked as an environmental engineer for the Sparton Corporation in both Jackson, MI and De Leon Springs, FL. After a 40-year career with Sparton, Phil retired in 2002.
The family would like to thank Haven Hospice of Gainesville, Halifax Health Hospice of Ormond Beach, Mary’s House Senior Care Gainesville, and especially Hena Muniz and her family for their care.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Halifax Health Hospice Ormond Beach Care Center, 235 Booth Road Ormond Beach, FL 32174. A private memorial service will be held in the spring. The family would also like to thank both neighbors and friends for their support at this difficult time.
