Moira Ann Clausen's Obituary
Moira Ann Clausen, 88 died peacefully at home on July 27, 2023.
Moira “Terri” Ann Clausen was born in London, England to William and Ann Johnstone on January 28th, 1935. Terri lived in London while very young and then moved to Liverpool where she had a lot of loving extended family. There she attended La Sagesse Convent School for all her education. As a young woman, she met her future husband Harold while he was working for Republic Aviation in Liverpool. It was there that Terri and Harold decided to get married. While Harold flew back to the US, Terri took the transatlantic trip aboard the Cunard cruise ship Queen Elizabeth I to the States to join him. They were married on August 10, 1957. While living in California, Florida, New York and overseas they raised their four children. Later they retired to Gainesville, Florida where they lived happily for many years.
Terri was an active and devoted Mom who loved her family and pets. She also worked as a successful salesperson in retail clothing, had a real flair for fashion and enjoyed working with people. Some of her favorite activities included Zumba dancing, listening to music, watching movies and traveling. Terri enjoyed tending the flowers in her garden and had the prettiest red geraniums in the neighborhood! Living overseas in Singapore was one of her favorite memories as well as visiting many other countries, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. Terri was a beloved wife, Mom, Nana, Mimi, friend, and dog and cat mom.
Terri is preceded in death by her husband Harold who died in 2009. Left to cherish her memory are daughters Donna and Michelle and sons Richard (daughter-in-law Jennifer) and Matthew. Terri is also survived by her grandsons, Adam (Michelle), Alec, Gabriel, Graham, and Ashton (Richard), as well as great grandson Nathius and great granddaughter Sorren (Alec).
A mother holds her children’s hands for a while, but their hearts forever.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32607.
