MICHAEL MAJED KOTAIT
On November 9, 2019 Michael “Mike” Kotait, of Winter Garden, Florida, passed away, too soon, at the age of 61.
Mike was born on March 24, 1958, to Nassib & Giselle Kotait, in Beirut, Lebanon.
At the age of 17 he moved to the USA and pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated from the University of Central Florida in August of 1985. Shortly after, in 1986, he proudly became a Citizen of the United States of America. He lived most of his life in Gainesville, Fl.
He loved Gator football, gun shows and laughing. His granddaughter thinks he hung the moon.
He was passionate in his career, having a hand in building and remodeling many commercial buildings, sky rises, sports arenas, airports, resorts and more across the state of Florida. He was working towards retirement and was excited to be mentoring, teaching and coaching “the next generation” with Turner Construction.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Nassib, and his brother, Walid.
He is survived by his mother, Giselle; wife, Amal; daughter, Randa (Brian) and the love of his life, his granddaughter, Addison. He is also survived by his brothers David and Elias, and his sisters Tahany, Hafiza, Randa and Maha, his first wife, Shirley, many nieces, nephews, coworkers and friends. He never met a stranger and was loved by all.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Sumter County Crimeline, https://crimeline.org/central-florida-law-enforcement/sumter-county-law-enforcement/.
