I met Melody in the early 1990s when I married into the family. Her obituary was perfect. It described her to a T. Melody taught me so much about God. She was always there to help my daughter and I when we had nowhere else to go. Melody always knew how to explain the Bible and the life of Jesus when I didn’t understand. Melody and I had a lot in common that most people don’t know about. I will always love her and she will always be my angel. I will see you again Melody. I am so proud of Melody and all her accomplishments in life. She loved what she did.

Mel was one of my first friends at the free standing emergency rooms for Shands UF Health. She would always bake me goodies on holidays, check on me in the lab, and share her warmth and kindness with me. I was so disappointed to see her go from our system. She will always be remembered. What a special angel.

I worked with Melody for a number of years at the freestanding ERs and it was always a relief to see her on my shift. At a busy and often chaotic workplace, I was always greeted by Melody with her beaming smile, happy blue eyes and a big hug. That was a nice way to start a potentially difficult shift. She stayed upbeat, was nice to chat with, and did her job with compassion. I will miss seeing her notes in the charts which she usually wrote in purple or pink (which made them easier to find). My deepest sympathy goes out to her family and I am sure they know she will be missed by many, myself included.
