Mary Maxine Marinaccio's Obituary
Mary Maxine Marinaccio, age 97 of Gainesville, FL passed away peacefully in ET York Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL on April 27, 2020. Education was extremely important to Maxine, and she valued it for herself and others. She obtained her B.S. with Honors, and her M.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and her Ed.D. in Counseling from George Washington University. She worked as the Dean of Woman as well as Director of the Guidance Center at Hiram Scott College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and later as a College Counselor and Professor at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland. She married Anthony Marinaccio in 1965, and upon retiring, they moved to The Villages in 1997. Maxine loved playing golf, tennis, and pickleball, and reading and music were part of her life from childhood until
her death. She also greatly valued her work with Friends of The Villages Library, and the American Association of University Women. Maxine moved to The Village of Gainesville in 2018 where she lived until shortly before her death. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Chester and Ritchie (Young) Reynolds; her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Doris Reynolds; and her husband, Anthony Marinaccio. She is survived by her sister, Katherine Van Cata of La Grange, IL, her daughters and sons, Dianna Judd Ares (Thomas) of Gainesville, FL; Nancy Judd Wilber (David) of Chatham, MA; Linda Marinaccio Pucci (Bernard) of Maryville, TN; Anthony Lee Marinaccio (LiBin) of Oxford, FL; stepchildren, Warren Marinaccio (Tina) of Aiken, SC; and Karen Marinaccio Beacon of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Sandra Carlisi Gamble (Scott); William Judd Carlisi (Debra); Brent Marinaccio (Kim); Lisa Marinaccio Gustafson (John); Michael Beacon (Dawn); Derrick Beacon (Allison); and Ryan Marinaccio;.and ten great-grandchildren: Aiden Gamble; Nathan Carlisi; Joshua Carlisi; Jamie Carlisi; Elizabeth Carlisi; Anthony Beacon; Alexander Beacon; Sophie Gustafson; Nicolas Marinaccio; and Harper Marinaccio. A celebration of her life will be planned for a future time. Condolences and special memories may be shared with family and friends on this website.
