Jackie Winter, the sweetest, kindest, most gentle, most generous and loving person ever, was my second mother. She and JP took me into their home when I was just getting started on my own and loved me without judgment and unconditionally as if I was their very own.
Every morning before I headed out to catch the city bus to my job in downtown Jacksonville, this Mom made me breakfast. Frequently this was a protein shake so I could get some nourishment in my stomach quickly (I was always running late). She did not want me to start my day on an empty stomach.
I can still hear in my head her lovely voice. She sang all around the house - so happy - so full of joy -- so willing to share all she had. What a wonderful example of how to live a life full of love and generosity she provided to me and all who were privileged to know her and be part of her family.
This very special Mom holds a place in my heart that no one else has ever come close to reaching.
I'm sad, of course, but happy that she is reunited with the love of her life and the other most wonderful person I've ever known, her husband and the father of three wonderful women, JP.
My cup overflows with blessings from being part of the Winter family.
p'shaw
