Mary Diane "Dede" Delzell's Obituary
Mary Diane “Dede” Delzell, 79, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died at her home.
Mrs. Delzell was born on October 16, 1936 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to the late Austin and Florence Dunn. She graduated from Northwestern University, and was a school teacher for the deaf and blind, until staying home to be with her children. Dede was married to Mr. Bill Delzell for many years, until his death in 1990. She later returned to work as a secretary for the Gainesville Golf and Country Club. She volunteered as an assistant helping displaced homemakers, and was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her son, John Delzell in 2006.
She is survived by one daughter, Anne Catherine (Larry) Bowman, of Archer; one brother, Richard Dunn, of Anaheim, CA; two granddaughters, Alexandria and Stephanie Delzell, along with numerous cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 11:00 A. M., in the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with Fr. Jeffrey McGowan as celebrant.
