Marilyn Moore Graden's Obituary
Marilyn Moore Graden, age 89, passed away on November 5, 2024, after an extended illness. Marilyn was born July 25, 1935, to William Wesly and Edith Marie (Reinhard) Moore in Alexandria Kentucky. She was pre-deceased by her parents and her brother William (Billy) Moore.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter Ardith (Jeannot) Rossignol, sons Guy Graden and Greg (Donna) Graden, granddaughters Marie (Tim) Davis and Elaine (Carter) Jara, grandson Thomas Graden, great-granddaughter Rose Davis, Kim Graden, Teresa Pennington, Becky (Chris) Toves, as well as various niece’s nephews and assorted “adopted” kids who routinely referred to her as either “Momma Graden” or “Momma G”.
Marilyn graduated from Campbell County High School in Kentucky and attended Ohio State University. She was active in 4-H as a girl and was a leader as a adult.
Marilyn and her family moved to Florida in 1969 where they became active members of the Palatka Horseman’s Club and the Florida High School Rodeo Association. Several years later, the family moved to Chiefland. Marilyn worked at the Rancher and Gold Kist for many years. She retired in 2021 from the Clayton-Johnston law firm after 20 years as their receptionist.
Marilyn attended the United Methodist Church in Trenton for many years where she developed many great friendships. She was active in their women’s group and local quilting club. In lieu of flowers, the family would request that those who are called to do so consider making a donation to The Children’s Table at www.childrenstable.org or 680 West Thrasher Drive in Bronson Florida 32621. Marilyn always appreciated the good work performed by this group.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday November 16, 2024 at the United Methodist Church located at 203 Northeast 2nd Street Trenton, Florida 32693. The family will receive visitors starting at 10:00 AM. A private interment ceremony will be held in Alexandria Kentucky where Marilyn will be laid to rest next to her father, mother, and brother.
