Marcia Mulligan Gillingham's Obituary
Marcia Mulligan Gillingham passed away in her home on Sunday, June 23, 2024. She found peace in the embrace of heaven, as she joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Robert Carroll Gillingham, Jr., after nearly 30 years apart.
Marcia was born in Teaneck, NJ, to Joseph and Mary (Grechanuck) Mulligan, who preceded her in death. Her journey led her to south Florida, where she met and married Robert "Bob," creating a loving family together. Marcia's life centered around her role as a devoted mother and later as a cherished grandmother, roles that brought her immeasurable happiness.
Marcia is survived by her son Bruce Gillingham; siblings, Jaquelyn Young, Thomas Mulligan, Cynthia Oakley, and Richard Mulligan; and her treasured grandchildren, Patrick, Nicholas, Brooke, Maddox, and Oliver. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart: Kimo, Stephanie, Jennifer, Samantha, Jenise, Steven, and Kelly.
Marcia's career as a registered nurse was more than a profession—it was a true calling characterized by compassion and unwavering care. She deeply valued her hospital family and extended her nurturing spirit beyond the confines of her workplace, touching the lives of many with her kindness.
However, Marcia's greatest love and source of pride was her family. Her dedication to those who called her mom, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, or friend was limitless. She found joy in ensuring the happiness and well-being of everyone around her, always ready with a warm meal and a listening ear.
As Marcia begins her eternal journey, there is comfort in knowing she is reunited with loved ones she dearly missed. Her departure was unexpected, but she left this world feeling content and hopeful for the future.
