Marcell G. Brown's Obituary
Marcell G. Brown, age 75 of Alachua, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was born October 2, 1939 in Perry, Florida to Omer and Nancy Lundy Grubbs. Marcell was a very loving and dedicated mother to her son, Larry. She loved gardening and spending time with her friends, Sister Trips and sharing life with nieces and nephews. She adored her neighbors and their children who were her Turkey Creek family. A member of Westside Baptist Church, Marcell enjoyed her Sunday School class and singing in the choir.
She is survived by her son Thomas “Larry” Brown, Jr., of Alachua; sisters, Sara Thompson of Atlanta, GA and Bea Kast of Fresno, CA. She was preceded in death by sisters, Geneva, Treva and Eva and brothers, Everette, Rastus, Elven, Sherman and Raymond.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., in Westside Baptist Church, 10000 West Newberry Road, with Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Phil Young officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make memorials to Florida Diabetes Camp, P.O. Box 14136, Gainesville, FL 32604.
