Mabel was so very kind. When my mother passed away, I was left with the already cut out pieces of a little star quilt. I could not figure out how to piece it together. Mabel and Leon were visiting and I asked her to show me how. Instead she took the pieces home, saying she would look at it and let me know how it should go together. Instead, she came back with a finished tied quilt. My memories of Mabel and my Mom are tied together in that small quilt so sweetly. They are together now with Jesus and in my heart.

Susan your mom was the sweetest, most caring person I think I have ever met. I remember when I first came to Florida she tried to make me feel so welcome. Then later she opened her home up for a wedding reception for all our friends & surrogate family in Florida when we returned from our wedding in Maine. Very fond memories.
