Kathryn "Katie" Lynn Sommer's Obituary
Kathryn Lynn Sommer (Katie), age 32 passed away on September 15, 2022, in Gainesville, Florida. She was born on May 1, 1990, in Boynton Beach, Florida to Nancy Sommer and Steven (Scott) Sommer and moved to Gainesville in 2009.
Katie worked at the Arc of Alachua County. She lived life to the fullest and lit up any room she entered. She had an infectious laugh, and quick wit and was a great joy to be around. She loved bowling, dancing, bingo, swimming, air boating, movies, puzzles, the zoo, and word search. She loved sports and participated in Special Olympics.
Katie is survived by her parents, Nancy and Scott Sommer; brother Tommy Sommer; aunts and uncles, Jackie (deceased) and Steve Collins, Patti Jones and Ron Lutz, Timmy Jones, Kathleen (Marty) Masta, Colleen (Rich) Foote, Craig Sommer (Linda), Susan Sommer (Sherri), Mark Sommer (Tina); Grandparents, Yvonne Sommer, and Kate Jones; boyfriend, Chris Looney; cousins, Casey, Lindsey, Logan, Mallory, Claire, Michael, Tyler, Brett, Morgan, Noah.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 10:00 am at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home WestArea 823 N.W. 143rd St. Newberry, Fl
