John W. Reaves has passed away at the age of 86. A retired SMSgt with the US Air Force for 27 years. John and his wife retired in Gainesville, FL, where he resided for the last 40 years.
John was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. When he was a kid, he was a professional tap dancer and loved performing. After graduating from high school in West Palm Beach, he joined the Air Force and made it his career. He met his wife Lois while serving at Mather Field in Sacramento. They were married on February 28, 1952. They had 3 children and they loved to travel. Their last assignment was at Scott AFB. John loved sitting on his back porch. That was his little piece of paradise and where the family and friends came to congregate. They loved taking Viking river cruises through Europe.
John is survived by his “Silver haired beauty”, his wife Lois of 65 years. He has a sister, Margie Larrabee; 3 children, Terry Chatwin, Tom Reaves and Tracy Greif; 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
John was the glue that held the family together. We love you dad. You will be dearly missed. Forever in our hearts.
