Joan C. Rankin, age eighty-nine, passed away at The Village in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Joan married Robert R. Rankin of Chicago in April of 1946. They were married for 55 years before Bob’s death in Marc Read Obituary
Miss ALL of the Rankins, spent sooo much time on Bayview with all the kids. My greatest memories, still live in Wonder Woods, Lost track of Steve and Sue. Look me up, KENNY BERNER
This woman with the smile we all know so well is one who has lived her life with her glass half full as opposed to a glass that is half empty. I've had the opportunity to spend a few visits with Joan this past year. She was open to doing just about anything. For Halloween she dressed up as Thelma and Louise with her friend Kay. Later that night you will see her sitting on a couch with four of her friend sporting sun glasses and hide pieces. I thought I was gonna pee my pants laughing. And for st patty's day we found a bar to eat corn beef and cabbage with a red headed leprechaun. Another great laugh! I'm going to miss receiving cards from her she had quit a card box. My thoughts are with you, I hope you enjoy the photos.
Hello to the family of this sweet woman. Joan bought my mom's home in Meadowbrook. My own mom had recently passed away and it was bittersweet to have to sell her place...but when I met Joan, all my sadness vanished. Her wonderful smile and gentle nature won my heart and I knew I was placing this home into the hands of another special lady. I would often see Joan at Publix and we would always chat for a bit. My deepest condolences to you all.
