Rob Comesanas
I’m Rob Comesanas. I have the honor and blessing to be next door neighbors with the Petruch Fam, and to call Andrew a spiritual leader and personal friend in my life.
I didn’t know Janet other than a few times I’ve met her at the occasional family gathering. Here’s what I can speak to about her life: the testimony about who Janet was and what she stood for lives right next door to me.
When my parents passed away, not together but each in their own time, like many who lose a loved on, I reflected on their legacies. Memorial services often talk about a persons legacy. They provide a synopsis of the persons life, with selected accomplishments. But do any of those facts about where a person lived, worked, or studied really tell you who they were and what was their legacies?
Even the greatest monuments in human history fail to stand for a persons legacy. Do you know the name of the person who wrote the check funding the pyramids? Or who commissioned the Great Wall of China?
Those are two monuments to human capability, ingenuity, and technology; standing for eons and even visible from space orbit. Even those monuments didn’t cement those specific people into history.
The Bible tells there are no treasures or worldly possessions we can take with us. I believe our legacies are firmly planted in our children and grandchildren. I didn’t know Janet well. But I know she was an exceptional person because she raised one of my closest friends.
Her life blessed my life and my families as we enjoy her lasting legacy through Jorge, Andrew, DeAnna, Riley and Lincoln.
Words cannot express how grateful I am for Janet and who she was and stood for. Andrew, I love you as a brother. I am thankful for you and our friendship, my family will continue to pray with the multitude of people covering Janet, Jorge, and your family right now for peace and rest for the ones she temporally left behind.
