James "Jimmy" Emanuel Hazen's Obituary
James Emanuel Hazen, age 78 of Crawfordville, Florida, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in Crawfordville. Jimmy was born March 9, 1938 in Brooker, Florida to Vascoe and Cleone Sowell Hazen. He served his country in the United States Army Military Police. He then worked as a fireman for Gainesville Fire Department for twenty-seven years. Before retiring, he worked at Alachua County Sheriff’s Office as a bailiff. He was a member of Crawfordville United Methodist Church Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many people.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diane Hazen of Crawfordville, FL; sons, Jim Hazen of Crawfordville, FL and Jeff Hazen (Joani) of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Marcia Martin of Valdosta, GA and four grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Jimmy and Ellie.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Alzheimers Association, Post Office Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090, in memory of his mother and mother-in-law.
