James Edward Janke's Obituary
James Edward Janke, age 79 of Gainesville, died peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, May 22, 2017. He was born April 26, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward and Martha Treichel Janke.
He was a retired Lutheran Pastor and faithfully served congregations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet; three sons, Jeremy Janke (Sang-Hee), Jonathan Janke (Bethany) and Jamison Janke (Alison); four grandchildren, Allison, Tessa, Jennifer and Olivia.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oak Room at Oak Hammock with Pastor Terrance Jacob officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University Lutheran Church,1826 W University Ave, Gainesville, FL 32603 or a charity of your choice.
