Nancy Vano
James Candy was my Uncle. After his wife, my Aunt Marge, passed away I became very close to him. We talked on the phone and exchanged cards and letters. We often talked about things from the past, family history, life then and now. He spoke to me of sadness and the loss of his life long companion. Being a widow myself, I understood his pain.
One day he called his old girlfriend Jane, from his teenage years. He was so delighted to reconnect with her. He became happy again. I used to tell him how envious I was that he was fortunate to find love in his life again. It was such a beautiful thing that happened to both of them. Finding love again in your aging years made life worth living again for Jim.
I was so glad that I got to know him so closely. It was a nice relationship between uncle and niece. He will be dearly missed. I will continue to talk to him anytime I think of him.
Sincerely,
Nancy Rummel-Vano
