Eugene Casper Reiger's Obituary
Eugene Casper Reiger (aka Gene & Cap), 90, went to be with his LORD JESUS CHRIST on February 28, 2023. He is survived by his spouse of 67 years, Margaret Michaud Reiger, daughters, Angela M Marks (Tom) and Martha Anne O’Boyle (James). Grandchildren Andrew Hagen (Beth) and Travis Hagen, Adrienne Babin (Chris) and Scott O’Boyle (Hilary). Three great-grandchildren, Benton and Elizabeth Martin, Jaxson O’Boyle. Siblings, Richard Mulhollen, Fred Brown, Joan Fetters and Patricia Stahl.
Eugene was a M/Sgt USAF (Retired) Disable Veteran with over 20 years of service. He went on to serve 20 years with the USPS.
The loves of his life were his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing the guitar. Eugene was third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Air Force Sergeants, DAV Organization, National Association of Letter Carriers, and the Catholic Corsillo movement. He served the office of the Chaplain, VA Hospital, Gainesville, Florida, for six years as patient visitor and eucharistic administer of the holy communion to the Catholic patients, and/or spouse.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by William Thomas Funeral Home, Gainesville, Florida. A Graveside Military Honors Service will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Northern Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 37 Lombard Rd., Caribou, ME 04736
