Erlinda Melgar David Canlas' Obituary
Erlinda Melgar David Canlas went to be with the Lord on May 26th, 2024. She was born in Manila, Philippines on November 29, 1943, to Alfredo David Sr. & Herminia Melgar David. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Business and Accountancy at University of the East, Phillippines.
She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Jeremias Valencia Canlas, and a caring mother to their four children: Julius Canlas (Jane Choi), Jeremias Canlas Jr., Joel Canlas (Mengkha Gurung), Stephanie Canlas Williams (Adam), and her grandson, Jaxson Williams. She is also survived by her brother, Alfredo David Jr., (Lilia), nephew Alfredo David III (Emmy), Sylvia David (sister-in-law), niece Simonette David (Anna) and a host of extended family and friends whom she loved unconditionally.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Victorio David and sister Elizabeth David.
Erlinda started her career in America as a CPA at International Paper Co. She then studied real estate, became a licensed broker, and opened her own real estate office; Dacan Realty.
In addition to her family, she enjoyed many social activities including dancing, traveling, spending time with friends, watering her plants, and taking care of her grandson, Jaxson.
Erlinda was a fierce woman. Extremely intelligent, Strong, independent, caring and generous. She will be missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church 10900 S.W. 24th Ave Gainesville Fl. 32607 with Fr. Alberto Esposito as celebrant. Viewing hours are from 9-11 AM and funeral mass beginning at 11 AM. Reception to follow.
