Eric Parker's Obituary
Eric Parker of Gainesville, Florida passed away on October 29, 2022 while traveling with his loving wife Joy in Istanbul, Turkey.
Eric Parker was born on November 10, 1951 in Miami, Florida and was the second of four children of Jo and Phillis Parker. A loving husband, father and grandfather- Eric is survived by his beloved wife Joy, his children Jeremy Parker (Nicole) of South Tampa, Florida, Katie Keener (Ben) of Tierra Verde, Florida and Matthew Parker. He is also survived by two granddaughters: Olivia Keener and Hannah Parker.
A true renaissance man, Eric approached life with an open heart and a thoughtfully inquisitive mind. He had a great love of people, forging deep and soulful connections with his family, and extended family of great friends. Eric embraced every opportunity to get to know people, finding meaningful interactions in his adventures.
Eric had a great love of nature, spending most mornings swimming the springs and beaches of Florida. Eric had a true passion for sharing the cherished outdoors with others, spreading his appreciation for natural spaces and commitment to the stewardship of the land. Eric was an avid tennis player, golfer and athlete.
Eric will be remembered for his love, kindness, humor and extraordinary stories.
A Celebration of Life will be held at One Love Café 4989 NW 40th Pl, Gainesville, FL 32606, on Wednesday November 9, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All who loved Eric are welcome. Please visit his memorial page at www.williamsthomasfuneralhome.com.
