Emily Elizabeth Cook's Obituary
Emily Elizabeth Cook, aged 15, of Gainesville Florida passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2014. She was born in Gainesville as the youngest of Mary Darlene Kelley and Stanley David Cook’s four children. Emily was a unique, well loved individual who was outgoing, kind and true to herself. Above all, Emily loved family gatherings of any kind. It did not matter whether it was hunting, boating or having her mother fix her hair and makeup. Emily dreamt of a career in veterinary medicine, but her true passion was weightlifting at Gainesville High School. She loved her GHS friends and teammates as family.
Emily was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Marion Dell Cook. She is survived by her mother, Mary Darlene Kelley (stepfather, Glenn Dean Kelley Jr.), her father, Stanley David Cook, maternal grandparents Linda and Ralph McKellar and step grandparents, Jonnie Sue and Glenn Kelley. She is also survived by her siblings Sabrina B. Rhoden 21 (Jeff), Nicole D Cook 20 (Trey McDaniel), Jacob M. Cook 18, half siblings, Jennifer M. Reardon 38 (Terry), Michael D. Cook 35 and step-siblings, Amanda L. Gravine 31(Frank), Amber L. Faulkner 27(Steve) and Jonathan D. Kelley 26. Emily also had many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as15 little nieces and nephews that were touched daily by her light and love.
A memorial service to celebrate Emily’s life will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 5:00 P. M., in the University City Church of Christ, 4626 NW 8th Avenue, Gainesville. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 P. M., at the church, prior to the service.
