"libby" as I knew her and I dated for a while while we were in high school at Topeka High. The photo of her coming down the stairs in a white formal gown was taken when we went to our senior-junior prom. I think that was why it was taken. She was a really fun gal and I really liked her.

Liz made small things magical –– I remember birthday parties where we made "potions" out of colored liquids that contained almond and vanilla extracts; after school snacks of eggs in toast (which I think Liz called a sergeant macgregor?); many, many trips to crafts and stuff and Joann fabrics; building miniatures; and Liz once speed reading through the final Harry Potter book while on a windjammer cruise in Maine faster than I ever thought possible. She was also the first adult who let me call her by her first name (which I found very cool). Liz brought passion and curiosity to so many pursuits and I will miss her, very much.
