Elizabeth Etta Hughart's Obituary
Elizabeth Etta Hughart, age 92 of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023. She was born June 16, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Joseph and Georgia Brown Lea.
Elizabeth was very close to her brothers and sisters. She was the last one living of thirteen siblings.
She met James C. Hughart, and they were married in the early sixties. They traveled all over the country with the Air Force, retiring in Denver, Colorado. She moved to Florida in 2004 to be close to her family. Her life was devoted to her family and she doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elizabeth had a great sense of humor; the room would light up when she walked in.
She enjoyed walking and was walking up until she wasn’t able to. The last four years she has made the Village of Gainesville her home where she made many friends. She enjoyed her time with her lunch crew and found a sister in her dear friend Shirley Weidler.
She is survived by her son, Bob Shepard; daughter, Georgia Church; special nieces, Betty Shaw, Janis Hayslett, Kathy Coder and Polly Bailey; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bill” C. Hughart; her son, David Shepard and all her siblings
