Ronald Hofstetter
As the parents of Steven Hofstetter, who married Libby's granddaughter, Amy Shepard, we (Peg and Ron Hofstetter) attended numerous memorable functions that Libby also attended at Bob and Pat Shepard's and Amy and Steve’s homes, but it was not until we moved into Lakehouse A in The Village of Gainesville in February, 2020, where Libby lived, that we really got to know her. Libby was actually very instrumental in convincing us to move and welcomed us into Lakehouse. Libby was always fun to be with and appreciated my humor. We ate with other family members in the Village dining rooms weekly; she always enjoyed chicken wings. Libby was quite a “flirt”, a behavior I promoted, especially around other residents. Apparently someone asked her if there was “something was going on with us” and she is reported to have responded “No, he’s family”. Libby loved to bake and I became a self-appointed “taster” of her brownies and cookies. Being nearby, I “looked out for" her, especially as she needed more support with time. After Peg died (April, 2021), Libby was my closest friend in The Village. I will continue to miss her (and her baked goodies).
