Edward David Schlueter's Obituary
Edward David Schlueter was founder and director of the MVO, he taught at Sibley high school as music director and toured Europe with his private group called Fiddles and Friends, as well as directing the nutcracker suite every year in Minnesota.
His greatest accomplishment in his life is the joy he brought to so many young people through his music. His pure dedication to his profession showed in everything he did, from one on one teaching to symphony directing of the grandest scale.
The softer side of Ed Schlueter showed in his visits with his family. Being a very private person, many never knew his ability to do a great Donald duck impression, how he loved to play the card game casino with his daughter, the fine dining he shared with his son and the German beers he enjoyed with his grandson. He will truly be missed on so many levels, by so many people.
He is survived by his two ex-wives Kathleen Moss and Nina Westbrook, his two children and grandson: son Douglas Benedict Schlueter and daughter Lensi Megan Jones, his only grandchild Spencer Paul Meyers along with his many nieces and nephews of the Schlueter family.
The leader of the band may have died.... but he will continue to live on in all the souls he touched along his life's journey.
