On behalf of the National Federation of Music Clubs, I wish to extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of Eann.

There is a profound sorrow in the passing of a young artist. A musician’s journey is one of dedication, discipline, and a desire to share their inner voice with the world. To lose such a vibrant soul just as he was preparing for a violin audition—a moment that represents so much hope and hard work—is an unimaginable heartbreak.

While his music may have been silenced far too soon, the passion he poured into his instrument and the beauty he created will not be forgotten. The music community is a close-knit family, and we grieve alongside you as you navigate this difficult time.

Eann was a great friend and I'm really going to miss him a lot. We shared many conversations about evangelism, theological issues, music, school, computers, and more. He was always super intentional about talking to all his friends at church. He continues to be an inspiration to me and all those who knew him to reflect Christ in our daily lives and to share our faith with the lost. I'm super grateful for the times I got to do evangelism with him; I will always cherish those memories. God's work in his life was incredibly evident in these past several years. A few months ago, he was telling me how he felt he was losing some motivation to share the gospel, and he prayed that God would instill that fire within him again. He went on to tell me that not long after he prayed that prayer, he almost got into a car accident that would have likely been fatal. He told me that it was then he realized that he didn't know how much time he would have to live, and so he went on to share the gospel with many more people. Although it feels like God took him home far too soon, God continues to be glorified through all of this, and I know Eann is with the One he's always wanted to be with.

I met Eann at college through the evangelism club he started. He ran into my aunt, who told my mom about it, who told me that I should meet this guy— this 17 year old kid that is on fire for God. I wasn’t sure at first but I gave in and texted him. He told me where and what time to meet him. I get to the spot, I’m looking around for him. I have no idea what he looks like and I only have a vague description of him. “Is that him? No, I guess not. Maybe that’s him! No that’s a lady.” I went back and forth with these thoughts for a while until I see a guy off in the distance with slicked back hair, aviator sunglasses, business casual outfit, and a computer bag. “That’s him?? That’s the guy??” I didn’t know what to think. It grew on me, like it did everyone else. He taught me the ropes of sharing the Gospel that day, telling me about his first time when his youth pastor showed him once and said “okay, your turn” (Eann’s words not mine). He and I quickly became good friends. He was truly a blessing to have as a friend, and I miss him dearly, but I know he’s better off than any of us now that he’s in Heaven.

I only met him once, when he was an IT intern at my job. I had a wonky docking station, and he helped diagnose the problem and was chatting the whole time. I remember thinking he was a sweet kid with a bright future. I am so sorry to hear he left this earth too soon, and I express my deepest condolences.

I'm thankful for the time that God gave me as Eann's friend. He was certainly a witness to Christ and I'll miss all of our conversations about computers, video editing, and Linux.

Eann and my son, Jacob, had become great friends. One of my favorite memories is when Eean road with us to our church’s beach baptism day last year. It was such a joy to get a glimpse into the heart of this young man as he and Jacob chatted on the trip. They talked about life, video games, computers and their mutual love of Jesus. Eean talked to Jacob about his experiences sharing the gospel with others and encouraged Jacob to join Eean, and a few times he was able to go. Eean had such a love for Jesus and wanted everyone to have that same relationship. There are so many great memories of him being a great big brother and friend to many. He is greatly missed.

I knew Eann from orchestra, though I never spoke to him directly. I always thought "when I'm older, I'll know everyone in the orchestra." If only I had realized that time was short, I would've gotten to know him better. Though I never spoke to him, I could tell how much he loved music. In orchestra, he clearly enjoyed the music he made. He was on his way to orchestra that night when the Lord took him home. Enjoy heaven, Eann. When I come there one day, I will get to know you. We can be friends.

So grateful for the short visit last year in August. Eann showed me his bedroom with all his laptops and computers and sharing of his desire to work in the field of technology. I was so impressed with his dedication to share the gospel of Christ with others on the college campus. He was a very special young man.
