Donald "Don" Edward Tschorn's Obituary
Donald Edward Tschorn May 9, 1939 - May 3, 2023, On the evening of May 3, 2023, Donald “Don” Edward Tschorn passed away in Gainesville, Florida. Don was 83, a few days shy of his 84th birthday. Don was born on May 9, 1939, in Bennington, Vermont. He was the loving son of Frank Henry and Miriam “Betty” Elizabeth Squyer Tschorn, both who have preceded him in death. Don attended The Phelps School in Malvern, Pennsylvania for his middle and high school years. He attended Lambuth College in Jackson, Tennessee. Don served in the Army at Presidio of San Francisco on Mount Tamalpais 1962-64 and then the Army Reserves for several years thereafter. Don worked at Baird Hardware, Fuller Brush, and Sherwin - Williams at J.M. Fields before starting his own business, Tschorn’s Furniture Refinishing and Repair. Don enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, and fishing and reading. Don was a big joke teller and loved making others laugh at his corny jokes. Don is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Jane Wink Tschorn; two daughters by his first wife Judith “Judy” Brodkorb Groover, Deborah “Debbie” (Jerry) Coutant and Cynthia “Cindy” Stokes Seven grandchildren; Christopher “Chris” (Snow Yang) Coutant, Justin Coutant, Nicholas “Nick” Stokes, Rosanna Coutant, Noah Stokes, Connor (Stevie) Coutant, and Lyndsy Stokes Six great grandchildren Nieces and Nephews (many who Don thought of like his own daughters and sons); Adam (Booth Moore) Tschorn, Allan (Suzanne) Tschorn, Susan “Sue” (Mark McClary) Tschorn, Bradley “Brad” (Brenda) Tschorn, David Gulbrandsen and Lea (Ben) Dickens And many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday May 12, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Williams - Thomas Funeral Home Westarea 823 NW 143rd St Newberry, Fl 32669 The Rev. Michael E. Snider II will be officiating. Burial immediately following at Forest Meadows Cemetery-West 700 NW 143rd St Newberry, Fl 32669
