Danita Louise Jacobi's Obituary
Danita Louise Jacobi, 68, passed away unexpectedly, June 12, 2026, in Alachua, Florida.
Danita was born in Starke, Florida December 14, 1957, and grew up in Keystone Heights. After graduating high school, Danita went on to work for both the University of Florida and Alachua County Schools where she was employed from 1990 until 2026, primarily as a Program Specialist in the EDEP program. In 1988, she met Michael and the two were married a year later. They were inseparable for the next 37 years.
Danita was a very active member of the Greenhouse Church in Gainesville, Florida where she led a weekly Microchurch gathering. She was also very involved with the International Ministry.
Danita is preceded in death by her parents, Grover James and Beatrice Park Sparkman.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Jacobi, her sisters Donna Henderson and husband Larry of Keystone Heights, Florida; Debbie Rayl and husband Michael of Fairview, North Carolina; her loving nieces and nephews, church family and many friends.
A Celebration of Danita’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Greenhouse Church, 11200 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32606. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
