Daniel Edmund Nass, age 84 of Gainesville, Florida died of heart and kidney failure at Shands at the University of Florida on June 14, 2022. Dan was born April 24, 1938, in Manitowoc, WI to the late Hulda Franzmeir Nass and the l Read Obituary
Mr. Nass will always hold a special place in my heart. Mrs. Nass was my first grade teacher, and Mr. Nass was always such a wonderful presence whenever he was around. Even at age 36 and after making it all the way through grad school, I still consider Mrs. Nass my absolute favorite teacher I've ever had. Mr. and Mrs. Nass even attended my undergraduate graduation from UF, and cheered me on from the stands. He truly cared about his students and led such an interesting life. I only wish I would have kept in touch with both of them after all these years, but I hope they know how much it meant to me to have them care about me and my journey. I'll always be one of Mrs. Nass's "1st Gators" and I'm sending all of the love, light and comfort to the family during this difficult time. God bless. Love, Ashley Shewey
I am so sorry for you loss,May God sustain you during this most difficult time. Mr. Nass was a blessing to all the many lives he has touched.
"Mr. Nass" was the perfect 5th grade teacher for our daughter. We are still thankful for his teaching style and how he influenced her life. She is now a sports' medicine physician partly due to his encouraging words and instilling in his students that they could do anything in life. He had a big personality, big kindness and a big heart.
