It's is impossible for me to share "a" memory of Claudine. Roy and Claudine were such a huge part of my life, from summers in Pittsburgh to Chicago to an unforgettable trip to Wisconsin. They were my second parents. I remember my excitement when they were going to fly in to roanoke for a weekend. Every airplane that flew over the house on the day they were to arrive caused me to bust out the front door to see if it was them. Then finally it would happen, Roy wagging the wings as they flew over the house to let us know they were finally here. Then on Sunday I remember praying for bad weather so they had to stay another day. I was so very blessed to have had them as my second set of parents and I find it strangely comforting to know that Jack and Evelyn and Roy and Claudine are all together again watching over us. My love to you and the girls Rita. I'm sorry I can't be there with you but know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. How lucky you and I were to have had these wonderful people in our lives.
Love,
Johnny
