Clara Mae Tillman Yarborough's Obituary
Clara Mae Tillman Yarborough, age 84, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 in E.T. York Care Center. She was born October 27, 1930 to Albert E. and Clara Mae Parrish Tillman. Clara was raised in Orange Heights. She moved to Brandon, where she and her husband Joshua Yarborough owned and operated National Utilities Company in Tampa from the 1970’s to 1992. They then settled in Earleton in 1989. Clara’s pleasures included traveling in the motor home, clogging, sewing, hand crafts, family fish fries, Bunco and golf. Clara was a very active member of Orange Heights Baptist Church.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband Joshua in 2001; son, J. Kenneth Yarborough; two grandchildren, Melanie and Josh; brothers, Frankie, George H., Wayne, Wilbur, Carlos and Gordon Tillman and sister, Sharon Tillman. She is survived by her sister, Inez Simmons and brother, Lynn O. Tillman. She is also survived by her children, Karen (Fred) Syers, Pamela (Don) Carter, Peggy (Gene) Messier and Joey (Debra) Yarborough; grandchildren, John, David, Daniel, Jesse, Leah, Joseph and Jennifer and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., in The Church at Orange Heights, 16700 NE SR 26, with Charlie Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow in Saluda Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, February 23, 2015, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to The Church at Orange Heights Building Fund, 16700 NE SR 26, Hawthorne, FL 32640 or Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
